Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Off The Tools Co. (ABN 66 177 144 033, offthetoolsco.com.au) takes your privacy seriously. We collect only what we need, we use it only to run the store and fulfil your orders, and we don't sell it. That's the short version — here's the longer one.

Who We Are

Off The Tools Co. is an Australian online store selling print-on-demand tradie merchandise. We operate at offthetoolsco.com.au. If you have privacy questions or requests, contact us at support@offthetoolsco.com.au.

What Information We Collect

When You Place an Order

  • Name
  • Delivery address
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional, for delivery notifications)
  • Payment information — handled securely by Shopify Payments; we never see or store your full card details

When You Browse the Store

  • IP address and general location
  • Browser type and device
  • Pages visited and time on site
  • Referring website

This browsing data is collected automatically by Shopify and standard analytics tools to help us understand how people use the site and to improve the shopping experience.

If You Contact Us

  • Your name and email address
  • The content of your message

Why We Collect It

  • To fulfil your order — your name and address go to our print-on-demand partner (Gelato) so they can produce and ship your item.
  • To communicate with you — order confirmations, shipping notifications, and replies to your support emails.
  • To run and improve the store — understanding what works and what doesn't.
  • To comply with the law — financial records, tax obligations, and the like.

We don't collect data for the sake of it.

Who We Share It With

We share your information only where necessary to operate the store:

  • Gelato — our print-on-demand fulfilment partner. They receive your name, delivery address, and order details to produce and ship your order. Gelato operates under their own privacy policy.
  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform. The store runs on Shopify's infrastructure. Shopify handles payment processing and stores order data on our behalf. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.
  • Australia Post / Carrier partners — basic delivery information passed on by Gelato to complete your delivery.
  • Legal or regulatory bodies — only if required by law.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.

Payment Security

Payments are processed by Shopify Payments. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All transactions are encrypted. We do not store your full payment card details on our systems.

Cookies

Our store uses cookies — small text files stored on your device. They're used for things like keeping your cart intact between visits and understanding site traffic. By using the site, you consent to standard cookies. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings, though some store functions may not work properly without them.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep order and customer records for as long as necessary to fulfil legal and business obligations (typically 7 years for financial records, as required by the ATO). If you request deletion of your account or data, we'll action it where we're not legally required to retain it.

Your Rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time (unsubscribe link in every email)

To make a request, email support@offthetoolsco.com.au. We'll respond within a reasonable time frame.

Marketing

If you've opted in to marketing emails (at checkout or via signup), we may send you updates about new products, promotions, or store news. Every marketing email includes an easy unsubscribe link. We won't spam you — we don't have the time or the inclination.

Third-Party Links

Our site may link to other websites (social media, external resources). We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Read their policies if you're concerned.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Significant changes will be noted here.
